
“Honor” the Kidnapper Neutralized by Police and Army
In a coordinated security operation on March 14, 2025, the Nasarawa State Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, neutralized a notorious kidnapper and armed robber known as Abdullahi, alias “Honor,” in Akwanga, Nasarawa State.
The operation occurred around 10:00 p.m. near the Akwanga Central Mosque, where security operatives intercepted Abdullahi as he attempted to flee on a motorcycle. Despite resisting arrest, he was fatally shot by the operatives. A search of the suspect revealed a Beretta pistol and twelve rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
One accomplice managed to escape with gunshot wounds, prompting a manhunt by security agencies to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the operatives for their professionalism and the successful collaboration between security agencies. He urged them to maintain their efforts in combating crime within the state.
