Arrest Made in Kogi: Cattle Rustling Suspect Detained
Operatives of the Kogi State Vigilante Service have apprehended a suspected cattle rustler, Suleiman Isah, in Omala Local Government Area. The arrest occurred on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at approximately 5:30 AM at the Dekina-Omala border in Ikpoba.
Following his detention, Isah identified his alleged accomplice, Sumaila, residing in Ayangba. Acting on this information, the Ayangba Command of the Kogi State Vigilante Service swiftly arrested Sumaila. Both suspects, along with the recovered exhibits, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police in Omala Division for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This development adds to a series of recent efforts by security agencies in Kogi State to combat cattle rustling. In January 2025, the Kogi State Police Command arrested three suspects—Musa Yakubu, Sanni Isah, and Rabiu Sanni—while recovering thirty-three cows.
The suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports about a trailer transporting rustled cattle along the Lokoja-Kabba junction road.
