Trump Revokes Secret Service for Biden's Children

Trump Cuts Security for Biden’s Children Amid Controversy

On March 17, 2025, President Donald Trump announced the immediate termination of Secret Service protection for Hunter and Ashley Biden, the adult children of former President Joe Biden.

This decision came after reports revealed that Hunter Biden was accompanied by 18 Secret Service agents during a recent vacation in South Africa, a country currently facing human rights concerns.

President Trump criticized the substantial use of taxpayer funds for such extensive protection, deeming it excessive.

Under federal law, former presidents and their spouses receive lifetime Secret Service protection, while their children are covered until age 16.

However, outgoing presidents can extend this protection for up to six months after leaving office. Both Joe Biden and Donald Trump had previously invoked such extensions for their respective families.

The Secret Service has acknowledged President Trump’s directive and is coordinating with the White House to ensure compliance.
