Remembering Andrija Delibasic: La Liga Legend Passes Away

Former Montenegrin footballer Andrija Delibašić has passed away at the age of 43 after a two-year battle with brain cancer. Delibašić began his professional career with FK Partizan in Serbia, where he won two national championships.

He later played for several European clubs, including stints in Spain with Mallorca, Real Sociedad, Hércules, and Rayo Vallecano. He also had a brief period with Portugal’s Benfica, contributing to their league title in 2005.

Internationally, Delibašić earned 21 caps for Montenegro, scoring six goals. After retiring, he transitioned into coaching, managing Montenegrin club Mornar from 2021 to 2023. His passing has prompted tributes from former clubs and teammates, who remember him as a dedicated and talented player.
