Ogun Farmer Caught Stealing Three Bags of Pineapples

​The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 53-year-old farmer, Oloyede David, for allegedly stealing three bags of pineapples, valued at approximately ₦90,000, from a plantation in Orile-Ilugun, Odeda Local Government Area.

Incident Details:

  • Apprehension: David was caught harvesting pineapples from the farm of Ola Omotayo. Another farmer noticed the activity and alerted others, leading to David’s apprehension.
  • Previous Thefts: Omotayo reported that in addition to this incident, she had previously suffered losses totaling about ₦830,000, including stolen pineapples worth ₦650,000 and a submersible pumping machine valued at ₦180,000.​

Police Action:

  • Investigation: The suspect, along with the recovered produce, was taken to the police station. The case has been transferred to the Divisional Crime Branch for further investigation.​
