Constituents Launch Recall Effort Against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan
Constituents in Kogi Central Senatorial District have initiated a recall process against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, expressing dissatisfaction with her representation. The process began with the collection of signatures in areas such as Okehi Local Government Area, where voters were seen queuing to support the recall petition.
This move follows the Senator’s six-month suspension from the Nigerian Senate after she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual assault—a claim that was dismissed by the Senate’s ethics committee due to procedural rule violations.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disassociated itself from the ongoing recall exercise, stating that it is not involved in the process at this stage.
