Two Kidnappers Arrested, 8-Year-Old Victim Rescued

​On March 17, 2025, the Nasarawa State Police Command successfully rescued 8-year-old Abdulrahman Sani from his abductors and arrested two suspects involved in the kidnapping. ​

The incident began on March 15, 2025, when Abdulrahman was abducted in the Tudun Wada area of Mararaba, Nasarawa State. The kidnappers contacted his father, Alhaji Sani Bello, demanding a ransom of ₦700,000 for the boy’s release.

Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, directed a team of detectives to investigate. Acting on credible intelligence, officers tracked and arrested two suspects in Keffi, Nasarawa State:

  • Surajo Yusuf, 22, a native of Katsina State residing in Angwan Tanko, Keffi.​
  • Peter Samuel, 23, from Nasarawa Town.

During interrogation, Yusuf confessed to carrying out the abduction alone and later enlisting Samuel’s assistance to keep the child, falsely presenting him as his nephew. The victim was rescued unharmed along Nasarawa Road in Keffi and has since been reunited with his family.

A search of the suspects’ residence revealed incriminating items, including uniforms and accoutrements of the Nigeria Correctional Service and Nigeria Immigration Service, a knife, a Nigeria Correctional Service identification card, a National Identity card, and three ATM cards.
