Rapper Sauce Walka Shot in Memphis: Incident Occurs Outside FedExForum

​Houston rapper Sauce Walka, whose real name is Albert Walker Mondane, was involved in a shooting incident in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The shooting occurred around 2:42 p.m. near the Westin Hotel, close to the FedExForum sports arena.

According to reports, Sauce Walka was shot in the thigh and transported to Regional One Medical Center. His father, Albert Walker, also known as “Poppa Sauce,” stated that his son is coherent and expected to survive his injuries.

Tragically, a friend accompanying Sauce Walka at the time was pronounced dead at the scene. While the identity of the deceased has not been officially confirmed, social media reports suggest it may have been his artist, Sayso P.

Memphis police have described the incident as a targeted shooting. Witnesses reported that multiple suspects exited a white vehicle, fired shots without engaging in any conversation, and then fled the scene. Authorities have identified the suspect vehicle and are actively investigating, urging anyone with information to contact Memphis CrimeStoppers.

Sauce Walka, 34, began his rap career in 2007 and has collaborated with artists such as Bun B, Lil’ Keke, Slim Thug, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, and Migos.
