​In recent military operations, Nigerian Army troops have achieved significant successes against banditry and illegal arms trafficking in Taraba and Plateau States.​

Arrest of High-Profile Bandit Leader

On March 20, 2025, troops apprehended Adamu Yakubu, also known as “No Money No Guy,” a notorious bandit leader linked to numerous cases of banditry and kidnapping in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State and Southern Taraba. Intelligence reports have connected him to multiple violent crimes in these regions.

Apprehension of Notorious Gunrunner

In a separate operation on the same day, troops arrested Alhaji Mansur Mohammad, a suspected member of a major gun-running syndicate, in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State. He was found in possession of ₦1.2 million, allegedly intended for the illegal procurement of arms. Investigations have traced these funds to sponsors based in Bauchi State.

Destruction of Bandit Hideouts and Recovery of Arms

Additionally, on March 16, 2025, troops raided the residences of two notorious gunrunners, Irimiya Aboki and Tanko Adamu, also known as “Arewa Mafia,” in Mararraba Donga, Donga LGA. Although the suspects managed to escape, the operation led to the recovery of four pistols, one pump-action rifle, and six cartridges.
