Bandy Kiki’s Love Story: A Milestone for LGBT Rights

UK-based Cameroonian LGBTQ+ activist and media personality, Bandy Kiki, has married her Nigerian partner, Jenny. The couple tied the knot on March 25, 2025, with Kiki sharing the news on social media, stating, “Yesterday, I became Ijaw by marriage.”

The wedding celebrated the union of two cultures, with Kiki hailing from the Nso people of Cameroon and Jenny from the Ijaw ethnic group in Nigeria.

Kiki, who publicly came out as gay in 2017, has been a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, particularly within African communities. ​

Prior to the wedding, Kiki and Jenny shared their pre-wedding photos, generating positive reactions and support from their followers. The hashtag #QueerlyKikiAndJenny has been used to celebrate their union.
