Eid-el-Fitr: FG Announces Monday and Tuesday Holidays
The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended congratulations to the Muslim community on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Eid-el-Fitr, also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” is a significant Islamic holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. It is a time for communal prayers, feasting, and acts of charity.
In his statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of the values observed during Ramadan, such as self-discipline, compassion, and generosity, urging all Nigerians to continue embodying these virtues beyond the fasting period.
