
Cook Steals $35,000 from Employer, Arrested in Gombe
On March 26, 2025, the Gombe State Police Command announced the arrest of 28-year-old Hannatu Ibrahim for allegedly stealing $35,000 (approximately ₦53.5 million) from her employer, Syrian expatriate Mohammed Jurdi, and subsequently setting his house ablaze.
According to the police spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, Jurdi, who works with Triacter Nigeria Limited, reported the theft and arson on March 22, 2025. Police swiftly apprehended Ibrahim and recovered $7,100 in her possession. Further investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, one of whom was found with a $100 note received from Ibrahim, bringing the total recovered amount to $7,200.
The case is currently under investigation, and the suspects will be charged to court upon its completion.
