Two-Year Jail Sentence for Internet Fraud Offender

​In recent developments, several individuals have been sentenced to prison terms for their involvement in internet fraud schemes:​

  • Joseph (Full Name Not Disclosed): On March 10, 2025, Joseph pleaded guilty to charges related to internet fraud. Evidence presented included his written statement, an iPhone, and printouts of fraudulent documents from his device. He was subsequently sentenced to two years in prison.
  • Ronnie Bonner: A former sales associate at a Simsbury car dealership, Bonner was sentenced to two years in prison for defrauding financial institutions of $646,351 through a fraudulent auto loan scheme between September 2014 and February 2015. He was also ordered to pay $395,124 in restitution and will serve three years of supervised release post-prison.
  • Lisa Schiff: A former art adviser, Schiff was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for defrauding clients out of $6.5 million by selling artwork without permission and misappropriating funds intended for art purchases. She was ordered to forfeit nearly $6.5 million and pay over $9 million in restitution.
