Abducted Katsina Varsity Student’s Tragic End

A 100-level Computer Science student from the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, who was abducted by bandits on March 2, 2025, has been found dead. The student’s lifeless body was discovered in a bush on Monday, March 24, 2025. ​

The abduction occurred in the early hours of March 2, when armed bandits invaded the Paris Quarters area, located behind the university, and kidnapped four students: Wali Kayode, Fahad Muhammad, Emmanuel (surname unknown), and another individual whose identity is yet to be confirmed. Following intensified search-and-rescue operations, one of the abducted students, 20-year-old Fahad Muhammad, was rescued on March 3. ​

The tragic death of the student has heightened concerns about the security situation in the area, leaving the university community in mourning and fear. Efforts are ongoing to locate and rescue the remaining abducted students.
