
Kaduna Priest’s Killers Arrested by Nigerian Army
Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have arrested two suspects linked to the abduction and murder of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu in Kaduna State.
Father Okechukwu, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, was kidnapped from his residence in Tachira village, Kaura Local Government Area, on March 4, 2025, and was found dead the following day.
The prime suspect, a 33-year-old man, was apprehended during a raid at a Ruga settlement in Warsa-Piti village, Lere Local Government Area.
During interrogation, he confessed to being contracted by another individual, identified as Douglas Henry, who resided in the same house as the slain priest, to carry out the abduction. Subsequently, Douglas Henry was arrested at Agwan Sarki, Tachira, in Kaura Local Government Area.
Both suspects are currently in custody undergoing further interrogation as investigations continue to apprehend other individuals involved in this crime.
