Rapper Sexyy Red Sued for Provoking Fan Violence
Rapper Sexyy Red, born Janae Wherry, is facing a lawsuit filed by Nicole Barnes, the grandmother of one of her children, alleging that Red incited her social media followers to commit acts of violence against Barnes.
According to court documents, in December 2024, Red allegedly posted Barnes’ home address and a photograph of her residence on Facebook, instructing her followers to “kick in the door” and physically assault Barnes.
Barnes claims that due to these actions, she filed a police report and was compelled to relocate for safety reasons. She asserts that she now lives in constant fear and has sought therapy for emotional distress. The lawsuit seeks $5 million in damages.
Barnes’ attorney, Steven Weaver, stated that attempts to resolve the matter informally were unsuccessful, leading to the current legal action.
As of now, Sexyy Red has not publicly responded to the allegations.
