Carlo Ancelotti: Brazil's Candidate for 2026 World Cup Coach

Ancelotti’s Potential Role as Brazil’s 2026 World Cup Coach

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has reportedly renewed discussions with Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti about leading the national team for the 2026 World Cup. This follows Brazil’s recent 4-1 defeat to Argentina in World Cup qualifying, which has intensified scrutiny on current coach Dorival Junior.

Ancelotti was previously approached by the CBF in 2023 but chose to extend his contract with Real Madrid until 2026. Despite this commitment, the CBF remains interested in securing his leadership for the national team.

In light of Brazil’s recent performances, the CBF has scheduled a meeting to discuss Dorival Junior’s future as head coach. While Ancelotti remains the preferred candidate, other potential replacements include former Chelsea player Filipe Luís, who has found managerial success with Flamengo.

As of now, Real Madrid has not commented on these developments, and Ancelotti’s position with the club remains unchanged
