The Tragic End of Diego Maradona: A Heart Twice Its Size
Diego Maradona’s autopsy revealed that he died with a heart nearly twice the size of a normal human heart. The Argentine football legend passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60 due to heart failure.
Medical examinations found that his heart weighed around 500 grams, whereas a normal heart typically weighs between 250 and 350 grams. The enlarged heart condition was likely caused by chronic cardiovascular problems and long-term health issues, including a history of substance abuse and obesity.
Further investigations suggested that Maradona died in agony, as he was reportedly left without proper medical attention in his final hours. His personal doctor, Leopoldo Luque, and several other medical professionals faced legal action for alleged negligence in his treatment.
