Gombe Police Arrest Deadly Robbers Linked to Motorcyclist Killings

Two Armed Robbers Arrested for Motorcyclist Murders in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has arrested two individuals suspected of being involved in the killing of motorcyclists and the theft of their motorcycles. The suspects, identified as Daniel Hamma, 36, from Wuro-Juli quarters, and Garba Usman, alias Mali, 32, from Local Gona village in Akko Local Government Area, were apprehended following a distress call on March 26, 2025. The call reported an armed robbery near the High Court Complex bypass road in Gombe, where a 28-year-old victim was attacked and his red Boxer motorcycle was stolen.

Upon receiving the report, a police patrol team led by SP Alhaji Isah Dabo responded promptly, transporting the injured victim to the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe for medical attention. The team then tracked and apprehended the suspects along the bypass highway, recovering the stolen motorcycle. A subsequent search of Usman’s residence uncovered another Boxer motorcycle with blood stains, various motorcycle spare parts, two motorcycle number plates, and some police accouterments.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the murder of five motorcyclists and the theft of their motorcycles. They also admitted to a previous incident on March 1, 2025, at the same location, where a victim was killed and his motorcycle stolen. One of the recovered number plates matched that of the earlier victim’s motorcycle. The police have stated that investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will face charges upon completion.
