Delta Police Seek Two in Conspiracy and Murder Case

Gbagada Kidnapping Claims Dismissed by Lagos Police Chief

The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed recent reports alleging a surge in kidnappings along the Gbagada Expressway, labeling them as fake and recycled misinformation. Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin clarified that the command did not issue any such security alert and urged residents to disregard the claims.

He noted that this false advisory first appeared in January 2024, resurfaced in September 2024, and has now reemerged in March 2025.

In response to the concerns raised, Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh has ordered an immediate review of the security architecture in the Gbagada area. Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders have been directed to reassess and strengthen security measures to prevent any potential threats.

The police have also initiated efforts to identify and prosecute individuals responsible for spreading this misinformation, emphasizing the importance of accurate information in maintaining public safety.
