Mr Macaroni’s Take on Delta Nursing School’s Viral Video
Nigerian comedian and activist Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has criticized the Delta State College of Nursing Sciences for issuing a query to a student who posted a video of her peers singing a controversial welcome song during First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s visit.
The incident occurred on March 25, 2025, when the First Lady attended the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme in Asaba, Delta State. During the event, some nursing students reportedly declined to refer to Mrs. Tinubu as their mother in a song, leading to the controversy.
In response, the college issued a query to Nurse Osato Edobe for allegedly recording and posting the incident on her TikTok page. The query accused her of engaging in a “malicious act” and demanded an explanation within 24 hours.
Mr Macaroni expressed his disapproval on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, questioning the institution’s decision to discipline a student over a song. He emphasized that students have the right to acknowledge their biological mothers and should not be compelled to refer to someone else as their mother.
