Delta State Orders Nursing School to Revoke Student Query
The Delta State Government has directed the immediate withdrawal of a query issued to Osato Edobor, a student at the School of Nursing Sciences in Agbor. Edobor had been disciplined for posting a video related to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s visit to the state.
In a statement, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding students’ rights and fostering a conducive learning environment.
He stated, “On the trending letter of query issued to the student of the School of Nursing, Agbor, I’ve instructed the provost to withdraw the letter. We don’t want to victimise any of the students.”
The incident began when Edobor posted a video capturing moments from the First Lady’s visit, which led to the school issuing her a query for alleged misconduct. Following public outcry and intervention by the state government, the query was rescinded.
Dr. Onojaeme further reassured the public, stating, “I’ve also reached out to the student in question, and the student has confirmed to me that the letter was withdrawn late yesterday night.”
