Personal Trainer Murder: Student Receives 39-Year Sentence
Criminology student Nasen Saadi, 21, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 39 years for the murder of personal trainer Amie Gray, 34, and the attempted murder of her friend Leanne Miles, 39. The attack occurred on May 24, 2024, at Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth, Dorset.
Saadi, from Croydon, South London, meticulously planned the assault, driven by a deep-seated grievance against women stemming from feelings of humiliation and rejection. He conducted extensive research on violent crimes, inquired about forensic investigation techniques during his university studies, and scouted the beach prior to the attack.
On the night of the incident, Saadi approached Gray and Miles as they sat by a fire on the beach. He fatally stabbed Gray ten times and inflicted twenty knife wounds on Miles, who survived the ordeal.
During sentencing at Winchester Crown Court, Judge Mrs. Justice Cutts highlighted Saadi’s complete lack of remorse and his desire for notoriety through a trial. She emphasized that his suppressed rage towards society and women led to the “utterly senseless” attack.
The case has profoundly impacted the victims’ families and the community. Gray’s wife, Sian, expressed enduring grief, stating that her daughter’s loss would “haunt” her forever.
