Felony Assault Charges Against Kim Delaney: NYPD Blue Actress
Actress Kim Delaney, renowned for her Emmy-winning role as Detective Diane Russell on “NYPD Blue,” was arrested on March 29, 2025, following a domestic altercation at her Los Angeles home. Authorities responded to reports of a disturbance between Delaney and her partner, James Morgan, around 10 a.m.
The confrontation escalated into physical violence, leading to both individuals being taken into custody. Delaney faces charges of felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury, while Morgan has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
This incident adds to Delaney’s history of legal challenges. In 2002, she was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving in Malibu, resulting in a no-contest plea, probation, and mandated defensive driving courses. In 2005, she lost custody of her son after incidents involving driving under the influence with him in the vehicle. Additionally, in 2011, Delaney was escorted offstage during an event after delivering an incoherent speech.
Beyond “NYPD Blue,” Delaney’s acting credits include roles in “CSI: Miami,” “Philly,” “Army Wives,” and the soap opera “All My Children.” As of now, her representatives have not issued a public statement regarding the recent arrest.
