Chinese Firm Cleared After NIS Officer Struck by Bullet

​The Nigerian Ministry of Interior has clarified that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officer injured in Niger State was struck by a stray bullet, absolving the Chinese company previously implicated. Babatunde Alao, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Minister of Interior, stated that investigations revealed no involvement of the Chinese firm or its employees in the incident.

The Federal Government has initiated a comprehensive investigation, collaborating with other security agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Authorities have assured that anyone found culpable will face appropriate consequences.

The Ministry emphasized its commitment to the safety and professional integrity of law enforcement officers while supporting law-abiding businesses in Nigeria. It also reaffirmed its dedication to fostering strong partnerships with foreign nationals to promote socio-economic development.
