General Overseer Arrested by Rivers Police Over Allegations
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a cleric identified as Elijah, the General Overseer of a new-generation church in Port Harcourt, over alleged involvement in homosexual activities.
The arrest followed the emergence of videos purportedly showing Elijah engaging in homosexual acts. A male acquaintance, identified as Patrick, reportedly recorded these videos after being subjected to Elijah’s advances. Patrick cooperated with law enforcement by providing the footage as evidence.
Acting on this information, officers from the Octopus (C4i) Strike Force unit apprehended Elijah at a relaxation spot in Port Harcourt. During interrogation, Elijah allegedly confessed to multiple instances of homosexual conduct involving both adults and minors within and outside Port Harcourt.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Rivers State Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest and stated that the suspect has been charged to court.
