Shocking Claims: Senator Natasha on Assassination Threats
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has publicly accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of orchestrating a plot to assassinate her.
Speaking at a homecoming event in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, she alleged that during a meeting on March 14, Akpabio instructed Bello to initiate her recall from the Senate and to ensure her assassination occurred within Kogi State to implicate local actors.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she reported these threats to Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. She also mentioned that Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo declined to participate in the recall process, citing her strong support among constituents.
In response, the Kogi State Government dismissed her claims, labeling them as reckless and unfounded. Commissioner for Information Kingsley Fanwo accused Akpoti-Uduaghan of attempting to incite unrest and violating a state-imposed ban on political gatherings.
As of now, Senate President Akpabio and former Governor Bello have not publicly addressed these allegations.
