Dad Arrested for Leaving Kids at McDonald’s for Job Interview
Chris Louis, a 24-year-old father from Augusta, Georgia, was arrested on March 22, 2025, for leaving his three children—ages 1, 6, and 10—unattended at a McDonald’s while he attended a nearby job interview. Louis, who does not own a vehicle, explained that he didn’t want his children to walk back home alone, so he left them at the restaurant, checking on them intermittently. Upon returning, he was confronted by police and charged with deprivation of a minor.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online. Some social media users empathize with Louis, understanding his intent to provide for his family despite the risky decision. Former NFL star Antonio Brown also took notice, expressing sympathy and initiating a GoFundMe campaign to support Louis and his children, which quickly raised over $28,000.
