Trump Faces Russian Warning on Iran Nuclear Strike Threat
Russia has issued a stern warning to the United States, cautioning that any military strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities would lead to “catastrophic” consequences for the entire Middle East region. This response follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threats to bomb Iran if it does not engage in negotiations regarding its nuclear program.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov criticized the U.S. approach, stating that ultimatums and threats are inappropriate and exacerbate tensions. He emphasized that military action against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure could destabilize the region significantly. Ryabkov also highlighted Russia’s readiness to mediate between Washington and Tehran to prevent further escalation and to seek a diplomatic resolution to the standoff.
President Trump has warned of severe bombing and additional sanctions if Iran refuses to negotiate. This stance has raised international concerns about the potential for conflict. Russia, maintaining its alliance with Iran, has consistently opposed military interventions and advocates for dialogue to address nuclear proliferation issues.
