Trump Informs Cabinet: Musk Steps Back from Government Role

Trump Reveals Musk’s Withdrawal from Government Position

President Donald Trump has reportedly informed his Cabinet and close advisers that Elon Musk will be stepping back from his government role in the coming weeks. Musk has been serving as a special government employee, leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), with a 130-day term set to conclude around late May.

The White House has stated that Musk will remain in his position until his work with DOGE is complete. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that both Musk and President Trump have publicly agreed on this timeline.

Musk’s tenure has been marked by significant actions aimed at reducing government spending and restructuring the federal workforce. However, his approach has attracted criticism, with some officials viewing his methods as overstepping his advisory role. Despite these controversies, Musk is expected to continue in an informal advisory capacity after his official departure.

This development coincides with a challenging period for Musk’s business ventures, including a decline in Tesla’s stock value and setbacks in SpaceX operations. These factors may have influenced his decision to refocus on his private enterprises.
