Federal Prosecutors File New Charges Against Diddy
Federal prosecutors have filed a third superseding indictment against Sean “Diddy” Combs, adding two new charges to his existing case. The updated indictment, filed on April 4, 2025, in Manhattan federal court, now includes five counts:
- Racketeering conspiracy
- Sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion
- Transportation to engage in prostitution
- An additional count of sex trafficking
- An additional count of transportation to engage in prostitution
The new charges pertain to a second alleged victim, identified as “Victim-2,” whom Combs is accused of coercing into commercial sex acts between 2021 and 2024. Prosecutors allege that Combs transported Victim-2 and others, including sex workers, across state lines for prostitution during this period.
Combs, 55, was initially indicted in September 2024 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
Prosecutors claim that Combs used his business ventures, such as Bad Boy Entertainment, to facilitate a sex trafficking operation over two decades. They allege that he orchestrated events involving coerced sex acts, sometimes recording these encounters, and transported individuals across state lines for these purposes.
Combs’ legal team maintains that all interactions were consensual and has denied any wrongdoing. They argue that the charges stem from consensual relationships and that the prosecution’s case is unjust.
An arraignment on the new charges is expected at a pretrial hearing on April 25, 2025.
