Major Gas Pipeline in Bayelsa Targeted by Hoodlums
Hoodlums suspected to be oil thieves have vandalized the Ogboinbiri/Obiobi 24-inch gas pipeline between Angiama and Angiamagbene communities in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. This pipeline, operated by Oando Energy Plc, is a crucial conduit feeding the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) export facility in Bonny.
The Bayelsa State Government has strongly condemned this act of economic sabotage and is collaborating with security agencies to apprehend those responsible. Mrs. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, the Commissioner for Information, Orientation, and Strategy, emphasized the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards such activities and called on citizens to assist in safeguarding critical infrastructure.
