NDLEA’s Stunning Cocaine Discovery in Travel Box
On April 3, 2025, operatives of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted two brothers, John Abugu (43) and Kenneth Abugu (31), at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The brothers were attempting to board a flight to India when officials discovered 5 kilograms of cocaine concealed within the walls of their suitcases. The duo claimed they were traveling for medical treatment, but thorough searches revealed the illicit substances hidden in their luggage.
In a related operation, NDLEA officers arrested 20-year-old Ghanaian-British national Parker Darren Hazekia Osei. Osei was apprehended during the inward clearance of passengers on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Bangkok, Thailand.
Authorities found 36 parcels of “Loud,” a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 19.40 kilograms, concealed in a large traveling bag. Osei claimed to be a computer science student at East London University and stated he had picked up the consignment in Bangkok for delivery in Nigeria.
