Man United Fan Charged for Assaulting Jack Grealish

Arrest Made: Man United Supporter Slaps Grealish

During the recent Manchester derby at Old Trafford, Manchester City winger Jack Grealish was allegedly assaulted by a Manchester United supporter. The incident occurred as Grealish was heading towards the tunnel after the match when a 20-year-old fan, identified as Alfie Holt from Droylsden, reportedly called him over and then struck him in the face. Fortunately, Grealish did not sustain any serious injuries.

Greater Manchester Police responded promptly, arresting Holt, who has since been charged with assault. He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court in July.

This incident has raised concerns about player safety and fan conduct during matches. Notably, this isn’t the first time Grealish has been targeted; in 2019, while playing for Aston Villa, he was attacked by a pitch-invading fan during a match against Birmingham City.

In the same match, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola condemned offensive chants directed at player Phil Foden’s mother by some United fans, describing them as a “lack of class and integrity.”

Both Manchester United and Manchester City have refrained from commenting further, as investigations are ongoing. However, United is reportedly cooperating closely with the authorities regarding the matter.
