Nuclear Deal: Kremlin Backs US-Iran Talks to Avert War

Nuclear Talks with US: Trump Highlights Iran’s Vulnerability

President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will commence direct negotiations with Iran concerning its nuclear program, with talks scheduled to begin on Saturday in Oman. He emphasized that Iran would be in “great danger” if these discussions fail to yield an agreement.

However, Iran has clarified that these talks will be indirect, mediated by Oman, rather than direct negotiations. This development marks a significant shift in U.S.-Iran relations, especially since the U.S. withdrew from the 2015 nuclear agreement during Trump’s previous term.

Complicating the negotiations, Iran’s nuclear capabilities have advanced since the original agreement, with improvements in uranium enrichment and centrifuge technology, reducing the time needed to produce weapons-grade material.

In a show of military readiness, the U.S. has deployed six B-2 stealth bombers to Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean ahead of the talks. These bombers are capable of carrying “bunker buster” bombs designed to target underground facilities.
