Chinese Restaurant in Spain Closed Over Dead Pigeons Scandal
In Madrid’s Usera district, the Jin Gu restaurant was shut down by the Municipal Police for serving pigeon meat disguised as roast duck.
A March 25 inspection uncovered unsanitary conditions, including hidden freezers with unlabeled meat and fish, some containing plucked domestic pigeons intended to mimic roast duck.
The establishment also stored prohibited items like sea cucumbers and utilized unclean kitchen utensils. The owner faces charges related to public health and environmental violations.
