Nigeria's Collapse: Peter Obi's Call for Assistance

Peter Obi Highlights Nigeria’s Struggles and Urgent Needs

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has expressed deep concern over Nigeria’s current state, describing it as “collapsing.”

Speaking at the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Obi highlighted the alarming increase in poverty, noting that individuals who once invited him to social gatherings are now approaching him for financial assistance.

He emphasized the urgency of speaking out against the prevailing challenges, stating, “We must speak out when things are going wrong. Nigeria is collapsing.”

Obi also addressed the Labour Party’s commitment to rectifying past mistakes by ensuring that future candidates are both dedicated members and competent individuals.

He underscored the importance of unity within the party, aiming to present qualified candidates in the 2027 general elections across various positions, including the House of Representatives, Senate, Governorships, and the Presidency.
