Security Operatives Free Kebbi Varsity Student from Captivity
Kebbi State security forces have successfully rescued Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), who was abducted on April 8, 2025.
Madubiya was taken from the Istijaba Villa off-campus hostel in Unguwar Jeji, Kalgo Local Government Area, by unidentified gunmen.
Tragically, during the incident, a herder named Mal. Siddi Hussaini was killed while attempting to intervene.
Acting on directives from Governor Nasir Idris, security agencies coordinated efforts that led to Madubiya’s rescue in the Dakingari forest of Suru Local Government Area.
The operation was executed without the payment of any ransom. Madubiya is currently undergoing medical evaluations but is reported to be in good health.
