NSCDC Arrests Four for School Vandalism in Kano

Four Arrested by NSCDC for Vandalizing Kano Schools

The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested five individuals for allegedly vandalizing and stealing property from two secondary schools and a power installation in the state. The affected schools are Government Secondary School, Unguwar Rimi, and Government Secondary School, Unguwa Uku, both located in Tarauni Local Government Area.​

The suspects, identified as Abdulbasi Usman (19), Yahaya Isa (20), Abubakar Sadiq Abdullahi (20), and Adamu Murtala (20), all residents of Unguwar Rimi in Kumbotso Local Government Area, were apprehended in connection with the theft of various items. These include roofing sheets, iron rods, iron buckets, 20 three-seater cushion chairs, mats, seven windows, two ceiling fans, essential school documents, and learning materials.

In a separate operation, the NSCDC arrested 17-year-old Alasan Inusa of Gidan Tela in PRP, Dambatta Local Government Area, for allegedly vandalizing electric power equipment. Recovered items from him include six insulators, a three-meter aluminum cable, and various types of nuts and brass components.​

The NSCDC has concluded its investigations and plans to arraign the suspects in court soon. Efforts are also underway to recover the stolen items, some of which were reportedly sold to a receiver currently in NSCDC custody.
