Atiku Clarifies: Buhari Visit for Sallah, Not Coalition

Atiku’s Message: Buhari Visit Focused on Sallah Celebration

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has clarified that his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari was solely to extend Sallah greetings and not politically motivated. Addressing speculations about potential political alliances ahead of the 2027 elections, Atiku emphasized that the meeting was purely a festive courtesy.

Atiku led a delegation of prominent political figures, including former Governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Achike Udenwa (Imo), and Gabriel Suswam (Benue), to Buhari’s residence in Daura, Katsina State. He explained that his delayed visit was due to his responsibilities in Adamawa State during the Sallah period, where he stood in for the Lamido of Adamawa.

Nasir El-Rufai also addressed the visit, stating that it was about unity and brotherhood, not politics. He mentioned that the group joined Jumaat prayers and shared a meal with Buhari, emphasizing the non-political nature of their gathering.
