On March 10, 2025, the Lagos State Police Command rescued 27 foreign nationals—comprising 18 men and nine women from Ghana and Benin Republic—who were allegedly trafficked and confined in an apartment in the Isheri Oshun area of Lagos.
The operation was initiated following a distress call from one of the victims, leading officers from the Rapid Response Squad to the location.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were lured into Nigeria under the pretense of employment opportunities. The police are conducting an extensive probe to identify and apprehend the traffickers involved.
