Understanding the Arrest of RCCG Pastor Abroad: A Phrase Fuels Debate
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently recounted an incident where one of the church’s pastors abroad was arrested.
During a Thanksgiving service in Lagos, Adeboye explained that the pastor was detained for addressing a gathering with the phrase, “ladies and gentlemen,” which some attendees deemed discriminatory.
They argued that the greeting excluded individuals who do not identify as either gender, leading to accusations of insensitivity.
Adeboye expressed concern over what he described as a decline in moral values, viewing this as a sign of the “end times.” He used the opportunity to urge Christians to remain steadfast in their faith amidst societal changes.
He also shared another anecdote about a woman who referred to her dog as her husband, emphasizing the growing moral challenges in contemporary society.
