Heartfelt Condolences from Osun Government on Customs Officer Family Fire Tragedy
The Osun State Government is mourning the tragic loss of a Customs officer, Tijani Kabiru, his wife, and four children in a devastating fire that occurred on December 2, 2024, in Ede, Osun State.
The fire engulfed their residence in the early hours of the morning, and despite the swift response of firefighters, the house was severely damaged, and the family members perished in the blaze.
The couple’s children, aged between 3 and 10 years, along with the parents, died in the incident, while one child managed to escape.
The estimated property loss is around 200 million Naira, with additional properties worth 500 million Naira saved by the firefighters.
The tragic event has been deeply felt in the community, with the Osun State Fire Service confirming the incident and providing assistance during the recovery.
The street where the incident occurred was named after the deceased officer, reflecting his important role in the community.
