Bilateral Talks: President Tinubu Meets President Ramaphosa in Cape Town
President Bola Tinubu recently met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa in Cape Town on December 3, 2024, as part of the 11th Bi-National Commission (BNC) between Nigeria and South Africa.
This meeting aimed to strengthen the political and economic ties between the two countries.
The discussions focused on the potential for increased trade, investment, and collaboration, especially within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of deeper integration for African nations to advance their common interests globally.
The event also marked 30 years of diplomatic relations between Nigeria and South Africa, and during the BNC, the two leaders explored new areas for cooperation in various sectors, including business and tourism.
President Ramaphosa highlighted Nigeria’s critical role in Africa’s economic development, and the leaders agreed that their countries could achieve significant economic growth by leveraging their combined strengths.
