Defection Drama: Labour Lawmaker’s Emotional Reaction to Party Exodus
A Labour Party lawmaker, Hon. Chigozie Obi, has criticized her colleagues who recently defected from the party, stating that their actions would lead to regret.
Obi expressed disappointment over the defections and accused those leaving of betraying the trust of voters who had supported the Labour Party as a platform for change.
She noted that the defections undermine the party’s goals and the expectations of Nigerians who are yearning for a departure from traditional political practices.
In her words, “You will weep when you realize the implications of your actions on the trust people placed in us.”
The Labour Party has been experiencing internal challenges, with some members citing issues like leadership struggles and disillusionment as reasons for their departure.
However, loyalists like Obi continue to urge commitment to the party’s principles.
