Political Shake-up: Delta Labour Party Members Lean Towards APC
A Delta State federal lawmaker, Anthony Aziegbemi, has disclosed that several members of the Labour Party (LP) in the House of Representatives are contemplating defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the lawmakers are allegedly dissatisfied with the leadership of the Labour Party and believe they would have better opportunities and political relevance within the APC.
Aziegbemi cited internal issues within the LP, including alleged lack of clear direction and ineffective coordination, as key reasons driving the lawmakers’ decisions.
He further noted that some members are under pressure to align with the APC, which holds the majority in the National Assembly, to secure political influence and constituency projects.
This development could potentially weaken the Labour Party’s presence in the legislature and consolidate the APC’s dominance.
However, it remains to be seen whether these plans will materialize and how they will impact the political landscape.
