Yahaya Bello’s Bail Rejected: What This Means for His Case
A court has denied bail to former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello in relation to the 16-count charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The charges involve allegations of misappropriation and money laundering, reportedly linked to an alleged N110 billion fraud.
Following a hearing on his bail application, Justice Maryann Anenih adjourned the decision to December 10, 2024, and ordered that Bello remain in EFCC custody until then.
The court also heard arguments from both Bello’s defense and the EFCC, with the latter opposing bail due to concerns over the defendant’s potential interference with witnesses.
