Breaking News: Bayelsa Governorship Contenders Leave Labour Party
Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 Bayelsa governorship election, and his running mate, Commodore Benjamin Nathus (retd), have resigned from the party.
Their resignation letters, dated December 8, 2024, were addressed to the LP chairman in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Eradiri cited internal challenges within the party’s leadership as a reason for his decision and stated that he is consulting stakeholders to determine his next political move.
Nathus expressed similar sentiments, emphasizing the need to find a platform committed to fostering Bayelsa’s development.
Local government chairmen and other party members reportedly joined them in leaving the LP.
