Pastor Tobi Adegboyega Responds to UK Government’s Deportation Proposal
Nigerian pastor Tobi Adegboyega has responded to reports about his deportation from the UK, dismissing concerns and asserting his continued presence in London.
This comes after a UK immigration tribunal upheld a decision to deport him due to overstaying his visa since 2005 and allegations of financial misconduct involving his church, SPAC Nation.
Adegboyega claims the ruling was politically motivated and denies any wrongdoing, emphasizing that no criminal charges have been brought against him.
He also assured his followers that there is “no panic,” reiterating his love for London and his belief that he remains an influential figure in the city.
The tribunal had rejected his appeal, stating his presence in the UK was not essential for the church’s community work and highlighting allegations of financial mismanagement and cult-like practices within SPAC Nation, which has since been shut down. Adegboyega, a cousin of actor John Boyega, argued that deportation would breach his human rights but was unsuccessful in his appeal.
