Bill Clinton Hospitalized at 78: Understanding the Former President’s Health
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, aged 78, was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., on December 23, 2024, after developing a fever. His deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, stated that Clinton is undergoing testing and observation but remains in good spirits and appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.
The situation is not considered urgent, and Clinton is expected to be discharged in time for Christmas.
Clinton has a history of health issues, including a quadruple bypass surgery in 2004, surgery for a partially collapsed lung in 2005, and the implantation of coronary stents in 2010. In 2021, he was hospitalized for a blood infection, and in 2022, he tested positive for COVID-19.
Recently, Clinton has been active in public life, including campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris during the presidential election. He also released a memoir titled “Citizen: My Life After the White House” in November 2024.
